‘Create whole body positivity one attribute at a time…’
A good way to find happiness in your own skin is to list things that you love about yourself. Writing positive affirmations will hopefully boost your self-esteem and help you get to a level of positive thinking about your body.
We have all heard someone talk about writing positive affirmations on your mirror is good for you.
However, before we can deal with the greatness that’s in us we need to deal with the negativity that clouds us.
Dr. Caroline Leaf a cognitive neuroscientist and fellow God-fearing woman, has set out a wonderful program of 21 days which tackles toxic thoughts. Her program ‘Brain Detox’ teaches you how to deal with a negative thought and ultimately replace it with a positive thought. Dr. Leaf guides you through the program which takes 10 minutes a day and is based on five steps.
Here is a basic run down of the five steps:
- Identify the thought
- Ask, Answer, Discuss the thought
- Write it down (just like you write down your positive ones)
- Read it (Loud and Proud)
- Action (What am I going to do about the thought?)
Now back to the positive. It’s your turn to start writing. Get a pen and paper. Sticky notes are even better if you want to place them around your room or house for constant reminders. Start writing down the things you love about yourself and believe them. Or else they just become words on a piece of paper with no conviction.
Now every time you feel low or doubt your beauty read those affirmations out loud with confidence!
We hope that if you do take on the 21-day detox, you discover to love yourself at your best and your worst.
If you realized how powerful your throughts are, you would never think a negative throught.
